PERCIVAL MAKES HIS MOVE — After suspecting that Percival (guest star Chris O’Shea) is about to make a big play, Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) warn their friends about his potential threat to the town. Meanwhile, Toni (Vanessa Morgan) also finds herself a target after Percival announces his plans to rid the town of gangs, including the Serpents. Finally, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) makes her move against Archie, Betty and Jughead.
THE WORST TOWN IN AMERICA — After learning that Percival Pickens (guest star Chris O’Shea) is behind a blistering article calling Riverdale the worst town in America, Archie (KJ Apa) comes up with a plan to prove him wrong. Meanwhile, after the Town Council goes after their casino, Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Reggie (Charles Melton) decide they’re going to do everything on the up-and-up moving forward. HERMOINE COMES TO TOWN – Following the explosion at the Andrews residence, Archie (KJ Apa) assembles a team to help rebuild his home, while Jughead (Cole Sprouse) copes with his new reality. Meanwhile, at the Riverdale town hall meeting, Veronica (Camila Mendes) breaks some news to the town, which later prompts a visit from her mother Hermoine (guest star Marisol Nichols). At Thornhill, Britta (guest star Kyra Leroux) tries to get to the bottom of some strange happenings going on with Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Nana Rose (guest star Barbara Wallace).
The CW’s traditional early-renewal blitz has finally arrived, although the volume of pickups is down from previous years.
The network on Tuesday renewed seven series for the 2022-23 TV season, including All American (for Season 5), The Flash (for Season 9), Superman & Lois (for Season 3), Riverdale (for Season 7), Walker (for Season 3), Kung Fu (for Season 3) and Nancy Drew (for Season 4).
This marks the first time in four years that The CW has waited until spring to issue its first wave of scripted renewals. (By comparison, in 2019, 2020 and 2021, the network had already handed early pickups by February.)
The “delay” — coupled with the more modest number of renewals — comes as The CW’s corporate parents, Paramount and WarnerMedia, are exploring a sale of the network. (Local-TV behemoth Nexstar is said to be among the suitors.)
If and when a deal goes through, the new owners are expected to implement a new programming strategy, potentially leaving many current CW series vulnerable to cancellation or, in a rosier scenario, primed for relocation to ViacomCBS and WarnerMedia’s respecting streaming outlets, Paramount+ and HBO Max.
THE AFTERMATH — As news begins to spread about the bombing at the Andrew’s home, Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) begin to deal with mysterious side effects from the explosion. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) spirals after learning that Hiram may have been involved, and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) is consumed with guilt when she believes she may have had a hand in the explosion.
Actor and musician KJ Apa has been named the new face of Lacoste and will be mainly front the Crocodile brand’s underwear category.
The New Zealand-born actor, best known for playing Archie Andrews in the TV show Riverdale, will represent Lacoste for two years and star in the brand’s campaign film in autumn 2022.
In a short statement, Lacoste said that Apa was chosen to represent the brand due to “shared values, creativity and energy,” as the brand looks to reinforce its dominance in the underwear category.
Commenting on his new role, Apa said: “I’ve always loved the versatility of Lacoste, which is the perfect combination of fashion and sport.”
Lacoste first launched its underwear collection in 1966 and has reinvented its pieces to more modern materials that are in tune with the times that offer comfort and freedom of movement.
The sportswear brand added that the underwear category represents a “very strong growth potential,” and is at the heart of Lacoste’s ambitions to offer a complete silhouette.
